Third Winter School, 2-6 February 2009, Warsaw, Poland
The 3rd NASCENT winter school that took place in Warsaw, during the first week of February, was an important milestone in the life of NASCENT. We are now in our third year of activities and most of our ESRs are in their final year of studies towards their PhD. In order to maximise the training of the ESRs and ERs employed by NASCENT, the date for this School was moved earlier, to allow a 4th Summer School to take place in Hungary in July 2009.
The IPC team did a superb job of organising the event, catering for all the participants and making sure that everyone was well looked after. The chosen accommodation was excellent and all participants agreed that the end of School dinner was a wonderful choice.
Dr Desrousseaux and Dr Resmini spent the day on Friday 'grilling' some of the participants during a round of mock interviews. It was a very interesting experience, especially because the different approach of academic interviewer and industrial interviewer was clearly noticeable. We both agreed that all the participants took the event seriously and put considerable effort in trying to secure the available jobs. We hope that all this training will pay off and we look forward to hearing about all the success of the NASCENT researchers in coming year!!!
