Giorgio Ceolin

Giorgio CeolinGiorgio was born in 1978 in Pordenone, Italy. In this city near Venice, he went to High School where he started studying (and loving) chemistry. After his high school diploma, he moved to Padova, where he enrolled in the course of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Padova, which was founded in 1222. He got his graduate degree with full marks in the department Department of Chemical Sciences in 2007 with the supervision of Professor Benedetto Corain and his thesis was about aerobic alcohols oxidations in water catalyzed by gold (0) nanoclusters dispersed inside hydrophilic polymeric frameworks.

In April 2007, Giorgio joined the group of Professor George Horvai at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics as an Early Stage Researcher within the NASCENT network. In his next three years, Giorgio will develop novel formats of MIPs for affinity sensors and for flow-through analytical devices and he will use combinatorial techniques to optimize the MIPs developed in the NASCENT project.
