Dr Tristan Doussineau

Dr Tristan DoussineauTristan was born in 1977 in Dreux, France where he spent most of his life. After finishing high-school in 1995 in Chartres he studied chemistry at the University François Rabelais in Tours where he had his first scientific experience in an academic research group under the supervision of Prof. Jacques Auger. This experience was going on until 2002 in which he worked on the synthesis of sulphur compounds and the development of new analytical procedures within the framework of the European Contract "Garlic and Health". Subsequently he attained his master degree at the University Montpellier 2 and acquired another research experience under the supervision of Dr. Jean-Olivier Durand. This work was focused on synthesis of phosphonic acids containing the semicarbazide group for their coupling on metal oxide surfaces and the efficient immobilisation of peptides of biological interest1.

Tristan started his PhD studies under the supervision of Dr. Monique Smaïhi in the European Institute of Membranes (IEM) in Montpellier. The research was focused on the preparation of zeolite nanoparticles (beta and silicalite-1) for their use in biomedical applications2-4. The porous structure of the zeolite material was used as a host for the inclusion of a contrast agent (3-hydroxyflavone (beta) or hyperpolarised Xe (silicalite-1)) and the external surface for the immobilisation of biologically active compounds.

On 1st march 2007 he joined the group of Dr. Gerhard Mohr at Friedrich Schiller University Jena. Being the part of the NASCENT project he is going to develop nanometric core-shell structures with a reference dye in the core and a specific ionophore in the shell.
