Artur Moro
Born in Cascais, a small suburban area of Lisbon , Artur was raised in Carcavelos, where he took his High School studies. In the "Escola Secundária de Carcavelos", he developed a "taste" for Chemistry, which resulted in his enrolment in the course of Applied Chemistry at the "Universidade Nova de Lisboa", from 2000 to 2006. During this period, he grew a lot as a researcher and person, making friends that he hopes he will never lose.
At the end of his diploma, he took a six month internship working with Professor José-Luís Capelo-Martínez, Dipl. Ricardo Carreira and Dipl. Francisco Cordeiro, three people that he loved to work with, and with whom he has written two papers as co-author.
On 2nd November 2006, he joined the NASCENT project at Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany, where he will develop functional fluorescent monomers for molecularly imprinted polymers based on chromo- and fluororeactands, to be used in nanomaterials.
