Dr Jan Svoboda
Jan Svoboda was born in 1978 in Prague, Czech Republic, where he spent most of his life. After finishing high-school he studied chemistry at the Charles University in Prague, where he received his MSc in 2001.
During his PhD thesis at the Department of Physical and Macromolecular Chemistry in the Group of Specialty Polymers under the supervision of Prof. Jiri Vohlidal he studied preparation of new, heterogenized rhodium catalysts for preparation of high-purity polyacetylenes. Jan's PhD research resulted in several publications, as well as in presentations at international conferences. He received his PhD degree in 2007.
During his PhD study Jan spent time on additional education such as International School of Organometallic Chemistry, Camerino, Italy and NATO Advanced Study Institute, Summer School, Antalya, Turkey. Through the years 2001-2003 he was member of European Graduate College "Advanced Polymeric Materials".
Jan is presently working as an experienced researcher of NASCENT at the University of Padova, Italy, in the group of Dr. Andrea Biffis.
